DAVIS, Calif. – Seven members of UC Davis track and field earned 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors as announced today, June 24, by CSC as part of the full roll out of their national track and field academic postseason awards.

Two Aggie men,
Ryan Ishibashi and
Chance Tokubo earned the honor while five Aggie women earned the recognition.
Dani Barrett,
Madison Kackley,
Maya Shinnick, Sydney McCaan and
Elizabeth Churchill rounded out the UC Davis representatives on the CSC list.

Shinnick (400m) and Barrett (10,000m) both qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries, with Barrett winning the 10,000-Meter Run Big West Championship while setting a program record in the 10,000-Meter Run. Kackley added a school record in the 3,000-Meter Run to showcase a strong athletic performance and academic performance by the seven Aggies. Â

RELAY EVENT, that can bolster the nomination but the basic criteria to be met is forÂ
INDIVIDUALÂ performances. Relays cannot be the basis for eligibility.

- Cross Country - Top-50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA regional competitionÂ
- Track - Top-50 regional ranking in single event (indoor or outdoor)Â
- NAIA institutions: Top-25 in conference in single event (indoor or outdoor)Â
- College Division: Appear in national ranking in single event (indoor or outdoor)Â
To qualify for CSC Academic honors the following criteria must be met –
- Academic eligibility minimums:Â An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)Â as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.
