Max Arfsten Invited to U.S. Men’s National Team’s June Camp

DAVIS, Calif. — Former UC Davis men's soccer star Max Arfsten has been selected for the U.S. Men's National Team's 27-player training camp roster ahead of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Head coach Mauricio Pochettino's squad begins preparations today in Chicago, with friendlies scheduled against Turkey (June 7) and Switzerland (June 10) serving as final tune-ups before Gold Cup competition.



Arfsten represents one of three Columbus Crew members to receive the call-up and one of 18 total players in the camp roster to have taken part in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

Arfsten has earned three caps with the national team, including two starts, since making his debut on January 18 in a 3-1 win over Venezuela (65 minutes played). His most recent appearance came at the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League Finals, where he started in the Third Place match against Canada on March 23.

This season with Columbus, the Fresno, California, product has been a consistent presence in the lineup, starting 13 MLS matches while contributing three goals and three assists. His standout moment came on April 26 when he scored the game-winner against the San Jose Earthquakes.
