The short story: ​​In their final match of the season, UC Davis women's tennis suffered a 4–0 defeat to Sacramento State, with the Hornets clinching the doubles point and three straight singles.

• The Hornets took the early lead, grabbing the doubles point. 

• No Aggies were able to win a singles match. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles, where Solia Valentine and Polina Marakhtanova finished first, falling to their opponents. 

• Next to finish was the pair of  Daisy Maunupau and Mika Ikemori, who also lost their match, giving the doubles point to the Hornets. 

• The doubles match of Claire Galerkin and Kaia Wolfe went unfinished since Sacramento State had already grabbed the doubles point. 

• On to singles, graduate student Valentine was the first to fall in two sets, making the score 2-0. 

• Freshman Marakhtanova would have to retire during her match due to injury. 

• Next to fall was senior Maunupau, who put up a good fight but was unable to come out with a win. 

• Last to finish was junior Maya Youssef, who could not defeat her Hornet opponent, giving the overall match win to the Hornets.
