The Short Story: Elim Yan got a singles and doubles win for UC Davis women's tennis in day two of the Central Valley Clash on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Aggies opened the day with doubles against Pacific before wrapping up with singles versus Sacramento State.
 
COURTSIDE

• Yan gets her third and fourth win of the fall, fighting alongside Hu for an 8-7 win in doubles to open the day.
• Yu and Rizvi also took their third wins of the weekend in the singles part of competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After Yan and Hu opened the day with a doubles win against the Tigers, Yan moved over to the singles court, sweeping her Hornet opponent for another victory.
• Yu battled in extras to win the first set before battling back from an 0-6 set two to win the third 6-3.
• Rizvi also battled back in three sets in the third court. After dropping the first set 2-6, she swept the second set before grinding out the third 6-4 for the last Aggie win of the day.

UP NEXT: The Aggies wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Sept. 27, taking on UC Santa Cruz in doubles and Pacific in singles. Competition against the Slugs will be at 11:00 am and doubles versus the Tigers will be at 12:00 pm.
