Box Score DAVIS, Calif. – A high-scoring first half and senior
Kelly Hungerford administering four goals in the first quarter alone gave the Ags a surge of power during the Picnic Day showdown, but a second half comeback from the No. 7 Anteaters tipped the scale in their favor.
Hungerford led the charge offensively with five goals and two assists in the game.
Gianna Nocetti and
Chelsea Johnson had two goals apiece, and Nocetti won all four sprints she participated in and grabbed two steals while the ball was still mid-flight.
Goalie
Eva Stein was a second half powerhouse, making six saves in the cage to shut down the 'Eater offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sophomore
Sadie Henry drew first blood within the first minute of the game, scoring a powerplay goal. Nocetti followed suit a mere 20 seconds later. In the span of three and a half minutes, Hungerford found the fire and scored four against the Anteaters.
In the second,
Sam Yoo and
Bridget Miller add to the score, helping trade ties and tiebreakers with their competitors. One more from Hungerford and one from Johnson tie up the score 10-10 at half.
Going into the second half, the big west opponents were all tied up. After an energetic first half offensively, the teams slowed down in the third, going 13-11 with the help from five saves from Stein in the third quarter alone.
In the fourth, the Aggies fell just behind of the win.
