The short story: A season-high five goals from Grace Genhardt led the UC Davis lacrosse team to a victory over the San Diego State Aztecs on Saturday, Mar. 22.

OPENING DRAWÂ
- Gebhardt, Alex Agnew, and Alannah Scott led the Aggies with five goals each.
- A five-assist night from Agnew also gave her a game-high 10 points, tying a career-high.
- Ella Brislin also secured a hat-trick with four goals. She also won four draw controls.
- Annie Cimperman controlled center field with a team-best 11 draw controls.
- 24 goals from the Aggies tie the second-most scored in a single game in program history, coming just three goals short of the single-match record of 27 set against Fresno State back on April 24, 2021.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- With the Aggies on the advantage, Brislin got her team on the board three minutes in with a free-position goal.
- After San Diego State ran off three straight goals, UC Davis responded with a flurry of goals from Scott, Brislin, and Natalie Markman to find themselves up 6-4 after 15 minutes.
- Less than a minute into the second, the Aztecs found themselves back within one.
- But another 5-0 scoring run from Agnew and Gebhardt gave their team a dominant 11-5 lead halfway through the period.
- SDSU tried to respond with a couple of quick scores, but Audrey Carr's first career goal led the road team to a 15-8 lead at the half.
- Coming out of the half, San Diego State went on a 3-0 run to find themselves back within four.
- However, goals by Agnew, Brislin, and Jane Fox helped the Aggies maintain an 18-12 lead going into the fourth quarter.
- Brislin and Gebhardt found the back of the net to give the Ags their largest lead of the night, 20-12, to begin the period.
- The Aztecs had a pair of goals, but a five-goal period closed out a dominant 24-15 win for the Aggies.
