DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis field hockey head coach
Austin Pile was named the MPSF Coach of the Year, the conference announced Thursday.
In his fourth season at the helm, Pile guided the Aggies to six wins during the regular season while facing one of the toughest schedules in program history, which included several RPI Top-30 opponents. Under his leadership, UC Davis earned seven MPSF end-of-season honors, highlighted by five All-Conference selections —
Karly Redman,
Hayden Ma,
Beth Munro-Morris, Ela Franken, and
Morgan Caldera. Redman was also named the MPSF Offensive Player of the Year, while freshman goalkeeper
Addy Collingwood earned Freshman of the Year honors.
Beyond his work on the field, Pile played an instrumental role in helping structure the MPSF's first-ever field hockey season, which expanded the conference's offerings to a record-setting 16 sports. His contributions helped establish a strong foundation for field hockey within the league and positioned UC Davis as a key leader in its development.
Capping off the year, Pile and the Aggies had the honor of hosting the inaugural MPSF Championship game at the UC Davis Field Hockey Facility, bringing postseason play to Davis and showcasing the program's continued growth and momentum.
