DAVIS, Calif. – Following a strong month of October where UC Davis equestrian earned key wins over South Dakota State and posted its first-ever victory over TCU,
Sophia Blake and
Mya Clader were each recognized with Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rider of the Month honors.
Blake earned the monthly accolade in Flat, while Clader claimed the honor in Reining.
Blake anchored the Aggies Jumping Seat with steady, point-winning rides throughout October. She earned points in four of five meets, including the events lone point against No. 1 Georgia with an 87 on Snookie, and an MOP-winning ride with an 82 on Courtage versus Texas A&M. Blake also added victories over South Dakota State and TCU, posting scores of 69 and 82, respectively.
Her commanding October followed ECAC Rider of the Week honors on Oct. 27 for her performance against South Carolina and Georgia. Blake's consistent high marks and ability to deliver under pressure highlight her as one of the conference's top Flat competitors.
Clader continued her breakout senior campaign with an impressive month in the Reining arena. She too collected victories in four of five meets, including an MOP ride on Vinny with a 72 against South Dakota State. Clader also notched points versus Texas A&M, TCU, and No. 1 Georgia, showcasing her reliability in the lineup.
Her efforts followed ECAC Rider of the Week honors on Oct. 12 for her standout weekend against Texas A&M and South Dakota State. Clader's consistency and competitive edge continue to make her one of the conference's top Reining riders.
The Aggies are back on the road again for another doubleheader weekend, this time against Delaware State and UT Martin on Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8.
