Ada Hirschfeld Wins NCEA Western Ride of the Week

DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis sophomore Ada Hirschfeld has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Western Ride of the Week, following a standout doubleheader weekend that featured her Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors in reining against No. 2 South Carolina.

Hirschfeld secured a crucial point in reining against South Carolina with a 70.75 aboard Slash to help clinch a 3-1 team win in the event, earning the MOP award for her ride. The sophomore then added a 72 aboard Jewels against No. 1 Georgia, capping a consistent and impactful weekend in the Western arena.

Her performances not only anchored the Aggies' efforts against two top-10 opponents but also earned her national recognition as the NCEA's Western Rider of the Week, an honor given to just one Western competitor across all programs.

Hirschfeld's national accolade follows UC Davis' sweep of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rider of the Week honors, where she was also recognized in reining alongside teammates Sophia Blake in flat, Lauren Kolbe in fences and Kylie Jacobson in horsemanship.

The Aggies continue their fall slate on the road next weekend, traveling to Delaware to compete against Delaware State and UT Martin for another doubleheader weekend.
