UC Davis Drops Road Meet To No. 1 Georgia, 15-3

BISHOP, Ga. – UC Davis equestrian wrapped up its doubleheader road weekend taking on No. 1 Georgia. Despite several competitive rides and tying scores across events, the Aggies came up short against the Bulldogs, 15-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
All five Aggies broke into the 80s in Fences, with standout rides against the top-ranked Bulldogs. Sophomore Sabine Close and sophomore Anna Donovan each earned scores of 82 aboard Tito and Love. Junior Lauren Kolbe followed with an 85 on Constantine, finishing just one point shy of her opponent. Freshman Lily Grosz closed out the event with an 85.5 on Perry, earning the highest score of the event and receiving a tying score against her opponent, preventing Georgia from sweeping the round.

In Horsemanship, senior Katya Dundas set the tone for the Aggies earning a 72 on Cowboy. Junior Kylie Jacobson led the way for UC Davis, posting the highest score of the event with a 74.25 on Teddy to secure the Aggies' lone point. Sophomore Eliza Plum followed with a 73.5 on Jerry to round out the event.

The Aggies continued to post big numbers in Flat, with every rider scoring above 80 again. Donovan opened with an outstanding 91 aboard Miso, posting the highest score of both the event and the entire meet, narrowly missing the point as her opponent edged her with a 92.5. Kolbe followed with an 87 on Corvich, while sophomore Sophia Blake delivered the Aggies' lone point of the event with an 87 aboard Snookie. Freshman Cavan Smith rode Caribou to an 85.5, resulting in a tie, and sophomore Carmen Gonzalez closed out the round with an 84.5 on James.

Closing out the meet in Reining, senior Mya Clader earned 70 on Leonard for UC Davis' lone point. Sophomore Avery Adamson posted a 72 on Gambler, narrowly missing her opponent by just half a point. Junior Mylea Trimble added a 69.75 aboard Odie, falling just a quarter point short of her opponent. Sophomore Ada Hirschfeld closed the event with a 72 on Jewels, capping the weekend with a hard-fought performance for the Aggies.

The Ags will travel to Delaware for another pair of road meets, facing Delaware State and UT Martin on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8.
