Ryann Bennett Named A Kay Yow Servant Leader For The Second Straight Season

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis women's basketball player Ryann Bennett has been named a Kay Yow Servant Leader for the 2025-26 Big West basketball season, marking the second year that she has been given this honor.

"Being a Service Leader again this year for breast cancer awareness is truly an honor," says Bennett. "It means having the opportunity to not only give back, but also to stand alongside so many strong individuals who are fighting, surviving, and supporting one another. I'm grateful to represent my team and continue raising awareness for a cause that impacts so many lives."

A sophomore guard from Long Beach, Bennett spearheaded her campaign last season by playing for a pair of great grandmothers and her aunt Lynell, who beat breast cancer and graduated from law school back in 2022.

Now in its third season with the Big West, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund looks to continue to raise the bar after exceeding its goal of $15,000 during the 2024-25 season.

Coming off an All-Freshman campaign last year where she averaged 6.4 points on 43% shooting, Bennett looks to elevate her game even further both on and off the court this upcoming season.

The Aggies tip off the new season on Nov. 3 at home against William Jessup. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT.
