The short story: UC Davis women's tennis clinched a thrilling 4-3 victory over Saint Mary's, securing the doubles point and winning three singles matches to seal the win. 

COURTSIDE 

• The Aggies took the early lead, grabbing the doubles point and beating Saint Mary's 2-1. 

• Aggies Claire Galerkin and Kaia Wolfe remain undefeated in doubles play, beating their opponent out in an exciting game. 

• Graduate student Solia Valentine took down her opponent in two sets. 

• Junior Maya Youssef beat her opponent out in two sets for her first singles win this season. 

• Freshman Penelope Wong took down her opponent in three sets. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies opened up the morning with doubles where Daisy Maunupau and Solia Valentine finished first unfortunately not being able to hold off their opponent. 

• Next to finish was the pair of senior Claire Galerkin and junior Kaia Wolfe who were able to win their match and are still the only pair undefeated in doubles play after five matches. 

• It was up to the pair of Mika Ikemori and Isabella Bringas to secure the doubles point for the Aggies. The pair won their match after an exciting tie-breaker giving the Ags their first doubles point of the season. 

• On to singles, Youssef was the first Aggie to finish taking her opponent down in just two sets. 

• The first Aggie to fall was sophomore Mika Ikemori, losing her match in two sets. 

• Next to finish was Valentine who completed her match holding off her opponent in just two sets. 

• Two Aggies fell as Marakhtanova and Wolfe both lost their matches. Marakhtanova took her match to three sets and was unsuccessful as Wolfe took her match to a tiebreaker, also unsuccessful. 

• Last to finish was freshman Penelope Wong who took her opponent to three sets, and after a hard battl, she was able to take down her Saint Mary's opponent for a final point for the team securing the team win.
