- Among Vane's two goals, one came from a penalty kick in the 27th minute drawn by Sam Tristan

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UC Davis' first opportunity to get on the board happened in the 20th minute, but they had a goal called back due to offside
- Responding promptly, the Lions scored mere seconds later, catching the Aggies off-guard and scoring in the 21st minute
- The Aggies answered back a few minutes later, with Tristan drawing a penalty in the box, setting up Vane to record the first UC Davis goal and bring it to 1-1
- With a flurry of goals in the first half, LMU went into the final 45 minutes with a 2-1 lead as Dobbs scored her second of the game
- Vane matched Dobbs' brace in the 49th minute after a service from Fontes, who found an attacking Tristan who flicked it to Vane for the finish
- For the next 10 minutes, the match turned physical, with multiple fouls being called
- Following a key foul in the midfield area, the Lions scored the game-winner with a lofted right-foot finish from Land
- The Aggies recorded four more shots the rest of the way, but none came closer than Ava Coverdale's attempt in the 77th minute, narrowly missing the goal on the heels of an Aggie buildup
NEXT UP: Looking to bounce back, the Aggies will hit the road for a pair of games next week, visiting San Jose State on Thursday, Aug. 22 and Pacific on Sunday, Aug. 25.
