Genavieve Fontes propelled UC Davis to a 2-1 victory over San Jose State on Thursday night, securing their first road win of the season.

- Tristan initiated the scoring after Sammie Ruelas lofted a ball into the box from near-midfield
- Tristan's goal gives her two on the season, becoming the second Aggie this year to reach the multi-goal mark after Emma Vane recorded a brace against LMU
- Fontes recorded her fourth-career goal after a perfectly executed set-piece was served in from Jayde Holley
- Both Holley and Ruelas with their assists tonight, now have two assists on the season to lead UC Davis in that department
- Despite being out-shot by the Spartans 13-12, the Aggies outpaced the Spartans in shots on goal 5-4

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Tristan found the back of the net after a long assist from Ruelas
- Not long after, in the 28th minute, UC Davis struck again with Fontes finding the upper right of the goal with a thumping header off a beautifully set-up assist from Holley, doubling the Aggies' advantage
- The Spartans got on the board in the 60th minute to make it 2-1, but the score held, allowing the Aggies to secure a bounce-back win to begin their two-game road stand
NEXT UP: UC Davis aims for its second consecutive victory as it travels to Pacific on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. It will mark the first meeting between the Aggies and Tigers in two years, with the last encounter occurring in 2022.
