Aggies Move Past Golden Bears, 12-11

Box Score BERKELEY, Calif. — Grace Gebhardt poured in five goals to lead the Aggies to a crucial conference win over Cal on Saturday, 12-11.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Rhea Cosand got the Aggies started with her 23rd score of the season. Cal responded with three straight scores, building an early lead they would hold for the remainder of the first half.

Reese Loseke and Ella Brislin each scored before the end of the quarter to maintain the two goal deficit at 5-3.

Natalie Markman scored the only Aggie goal in a low scoring second quarter. The half concluded with UC Davis trailing Cal, 7-4.

The Aggies came out of the half a new team, ripping off five straight goals to build a two goal advantage. Gebhardt scored a hat trick in less than ten minutes of game time, while Cami Johnson and Brislin each chipped in a goal.

Cal responded with four straight goals of their own, retaking the lead, 11-9.

Markman found Gebhardt for a score, then Gebhardt finished off a goal to tie the game at 11. Gebhardt's fifth goal is also her 41st this season.

Markman put in the winner with just over two minutes to play, but Ashley Laing made a win-preserving save on the ensuing Cal possession.

NOTABLE
Laing finished with 12 saves, moving her season total to 130. Laing and CJ Urbanic each scooped up three ground balls, while Katie Jones caused three turnovers.
