The Short Story: The Aggies held their own against top schools in Chicago, Illinois at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, where seniors Dani Barrett and Maddie Kackley placed in the top twenty against big ranked competitors.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN): Junior Ethan Brooks crossed the finish line first for the Aggie men, carrying a new personal record along with him. Junior Muhammed Ahmed smashed his previous time, coming in 46 seconds faster than his last appearance in an 8k. Sophomore Nick Herrmann also posted a new record for himself.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN): In an incredible effort, seniors Dani Barrett and Madison Kackley secured spots in the top twenty out of 148 athletes competing in the 6k. Despite going up against top runners from No. 1 NC State and No. 15 Alabama, the two didn't let the rankings rattle them. Barrett placed 17th in the race, while Kackley settled into 20th with a new personal record in the event.
 
Junior Kayla Rutz, sophomore Brooke Butler, and freshmen Fiona McGrath and Lauren Villegas also recorded personal bests as they crushed it against head-to-head against top collegiate programs.
 
UP NEXT: The Aggies will go west to Sunnyvale, California to compete at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara on October 19th. The men will race off at 8:45 AM, and the women will get going at 9:30 AM.
