IRVINE, Calif. – After racing to a personal best time of 23:21.2 for a third-place finish at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational, Donavan Cheruiyot has been named the Big West Men's Athlete of the Week as part of the conference's weekly awards for cross country.
 
The UC Davis men's cross country junior paced the Aggie men in the 8K at the Kim Duyst, leading the Aggies to a first place finish overall. His finishing position of third made him one of four Aggies to cross the line inside the top 10 under the lights on Saturday night.
 
Cheruiyot becomes the first Aggie this year to earn the Big West weekly honor and he becomes the first Aggie man to earn the award since Ethan Brooks got the nod during the week of Sept. 17, 2024.
