DAVIS, Calif. — The Aggies will begin their 2024 campaign on the road this season in Tempe, Arizona against host ASU on Saturday, Jan. 13. They will then head down the street Sunday and take on GCU in Phoenix, Arizona. 

The Ags return with a squad of nearly all returners besides Freshman Mika Ikemori. The first-year hails from Huntington Beach, California, and boasts an impressive high school career as a  two-time CIF finalist, two-time league finalist, two-time league champion, and  All-American Player of the Year. 

Three senior returners lead the Aggies this season including, Olive Maunupau, Carly Schwartzberg, and Michelle Zell. Between the three seniors, they saw 22 wins overall in singles matches. Maunupau won 3 singles matches in Big West conference play and went 4-3 on court no. 5. The senior out of San Francisco also played all doubles matches on court no. 2 garnering 6 wins throughout the season, 3 being in conference. Schwartzberg and Zell were partnered up for the season in doubles posting a strong record, finishing with 10 wins overall, and dominating in conference play with a 5-1 record. All 3 seniors were also named to the Big West All-Academic Team, performing not just on the courts but in the classroom as well.

Back for her third season after a great sophomore campaign is Arianna Stavropoulos. The Sierra Madre native secured Big West second team singles after going 14-6 in singles overall and 5-3 in conference as well as first-team doubles culminating in a 13-3 season record. The Ags also welcome back juniors Claire Galerkin, Daisy Maunupau, and Maddi Page.

Stepping into a promising second year with the Aggies is Kaia Wolfe. Wolfe saw 8 singles wins over the course of the season on every court but No. 1. The second year earned a finals berth at Cal Invitational with straight set wins over Cal Poly, San Jose State, and Gonzaga. 

The Ags will be back on their home courts Saturday, Jan. 27 where they will face the University of San Francisco at 11 A.M. and Jessup University at 2:30 P.M. at the Mayra Welch Tennis Center.
