Erin Hills, WI. — The UC Davis men's golf team is in 12th place after day one of the Marquette Intercollegiate.
The Aggies are +23 as a team and trail 11th place Dayton by just two strokes. Purdue is currently in first place as a team, shooting -1 during the opening round.
Mark Stephens has paced the Aggies, recording a team-high +2 with his highlights coming from four birdies, which he had on holes seven, fifteen, sixteen, and eighteen. The trio of birdies to end his round should give Stephens momentum into tomorrow's round.
Lucas Carper shot a four-over-par placing him tied for 38th amongst the field.
Rounding out the UC Davis lineup was
Darren Chiu at +7, along with the pair of
Treed Huang and
Leo Metzger making their collegiate debuts. Huang concluded the day with a +10 performance while Metzger enters tomorrow at +11.
Competing individually,
Alejandro Nava shot a +9 and is tied for 13th among the individuals group of scorers.
Round two at Erin Hills continues tomorrow with
