Aggie Women’s Tennis Aims to Get Back on Track in Moraga

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis women's tennis travels to the East Bay for a match against Saint Mary's College on Thursday. First serve is set for 12 p.m.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
UC Davis, (6-10, 2-4 Big West) is coming off a tough two-game, two-loss, Southern California road trip against CSU Fullerton and Northridge. Both squads are top teams in the Big West. A win on Thursday would help provide some much needed momentum for a late season upwards push in the conference standings. Three more Big West matchups loom, as well as a showdown against rival Sacramento State, before Big West postseason play starts at the end of the month.

Arianna Stavropoulos has been a consistent positive force for the Aggies this season. The sophomore from Southern California has won nine of her last ten singles matches and is 12-4 this season.

ABOUT THE GAELS
Saint Mary's (5-8, 1-3 West Coast Conference) also enters Thursday's competition on a three game losing streak. With five more conference games lined up to finish the season, the Gaels will hope to gain some positive momentum for a late season push.

Historically, Saint Mary's has been a tough opponent for the Aggies. The Gaels have won eight straight matches between the two programs, with the Aggies' most recent win coming during the 2002-2003 season.

LATER THIS WEEK
UC Davis will host Cal Poly on Saturday at 10 a.m. Cal Poly is 8-7 and 3-2 in the Big West. Coming off a victory against Santa Clara last week, they will play the University of the Pacific on Friday before coming to the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The Mustangs are headlined by freshman Alexandra Ozerets who is 10-3 in singles matches so far this season.
