CHICO – The UC Davis track and field team made the two-hour drive to Chico to take part in the Chico Invitational. The invitation featured competition from all around Northern California.
On the women's side, freshman
Hannah Crone had a strong invitational as she finished first in the long jump with a distance of 5.79m (19'0) and second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.26. Sophomore
Ashpreet Kler finished first in the hammer throw with a distance of 53.03m (174'0") that moved her in the top-10 as that mark ranks ninth all-time in the school annals and freshman
Rebel Tuinukuafe was not out-done as the newcomer finished first in the shot put with a distance of 13.87m (45'6") that also ranks ninth all-time. In total, the Aggies had fourteen top ten finishes for the entire invitational.
On the men's side,
Corey Moore won two events – the discus throw with a distance of 50.06m (164'3") and the shot put with a personal best throw of 16.09m (52'9 ½"). The Aggies finished with four top ten finishes.
The Aggies will wrap their regular season on April 28
th as they host Sacramento State at Woody Wilson Track.
