DAVIS, CALIF.– The UC Davis men's golf team climbs three spots to place 10
th after round two of the 2023 El Macero Classic presented by Griffin Soil Group and Preferred Capital Advisors. The Ags carded a second round score of 2-under 286 to advance from 13
th to 10
th to end the second round of action.
Junior
Lucas Carper, carried over his momentum from round-one, to pace for the Ags in round-two as he moved up to place tied for 6
th. Carper carded six birdies, three on the front and three on the back nine, to go 4-under 68 in round-two of play. In total, Caper has a two-round score of 5-under 139.
Mark Stephens also shot well as he finished round-two tied for 16
th. Although the Junior receded one place, he finished the round 1-under 71 and carded four birdies. In total, Stephens has a two round score of 2-under 142.
Freshman
Darren Chiu came back in round-two, as he placed tied for 52
nd. Chiu carded three birdies to finish the round at 1-under 71. In total, the freshman has a two-round score of 3-over 147.
Jacob Westberg finds himself tied for 71
st. The junior carded an eagle and a birdie, but finished the round at 4-over 26. Westberg overall has a two-round score of 6-over 150.
Junior
Alejandro Nava rounds out the Ags as he placed tied for 88
th. Nava carded a couple of birdies on the day and finished at 5-over 77. Between the two rounds Nava has a score of 11-over 155.
The Aggies return for the third and final round of the El Macero Classic, presented by Griffin Soil Group and Preferred Capital Advisors, tomorrow starting on the back-nine, with an 8AM Tee-Time. To follow along with the 2023 El Macero Classic:
