DAVIS, CALIF.–  The UC Davis men's golf team finished tied for 13^th after round-one of the 2023 El Macero Classic presented by Griffin Soil Group and Preferred Capital Advisors. The Ags carded a first round score of 4-over 292, as two Aggies placed in the top-20.
 
It was Lucas Carper and Mark Stephens who paced for the Ags, as both tied for 15^th. Coincidentally, the duo each stroked an eagle and carded a couple birdies as well. Both Carper and Stephens finished the round at 1-under 71.
 
Junior Jacob Westberg finished the first round tied for 53^rd. Westberg went even on 14 holes and carded a birdie on the front nine to finish round one at 2-over 74.

Darren Chiu finds himself tied for 70^th after the first round of action. The freshman carded a couple birdies to finish the round at 4-over 76.

Alejandro Nava rounds out the Ags as the junior finished the day tied for 92^nd. Nava did card a pair of birdies on the day, but finished 6-over 78.

The Aggies return to the El Macero Classic, presented by Griffin Soil Group and Preferred Capital Advisors, tomorrow starting on the back-nine, with a 9AM Tee-Time. To follow along with the 2023 El Macero Classic: Golfstat
