San Francisco, Calif. – After round one of the 53
rd edition of The Goodwin, the UC Davis men's golf team found themselves tied for 20
th out of the 28-teams. The Ags shot 9-over 289 as a team and have one player in the top-30 after round one.
Alejandro Nava paced for the Ags as he finished the first-round tied for 28
th overall. The Junior fired for an even-par 70 and carded three-birdies to finish -1 on the back nine, on his way to the even finish.
Freshman
Darren Chiu had a decent first round for the Ags as he placed tied for 59
th. Chiu carded four-birdies enroute to a 2-over 72 first round score.
Jacob Westberg placed tied for 85
th after the first round. The junior fired for 3-over 73 and fired for a pair of birdies as well.
Mark Stephens placed tied for 98
th for the first round, as the junior carded a 4-over 74 on the day.
Junior
Lucas Carper rounds out the Ags as he placed tied for 143
rd after round one. Carper shot 8-over 78, but carded a birdie on the day.
UC Davis returns to the course for Tee-Time at 1 p.m.
