QUICK HITTERS
•    FINAL STRETCH
This weekend's series marks the second-to-last home stand for UC Davis and the final three weeks of the season. UC Davis will close the season May 26-28 at     home against Long Beach State.

•    COMING TOGETHER
The hallmark of this Aggie team has been a penchant for scoring late. UC Davis scored nearly all its runs on May 13 in the ninth inning and then orchestrated a     four-run comeback in the ninth on May 14.

•    OFFENSE WAKES UP
The UC San Diego series marked a return to form for the lineup as the Aggies rebounded from hitting .194 at CSUN the week prior to bat .286 with a .381     slugging percentage. The latter was their highest since facing CSU Bakersfield at the start of April.

AGGIES GET FIRST SERIES WIN OF SEASON
UC Davis broke through against the UC San Diego Tritons over the weekend, walking off with a 6-5 win on Saturday and winning 8-5 on Sunday. Six Aggies had an RBI as UC Davis overcame a three run deficit in the ninth inning. On Sunday, the Aggies led wire-to-wire as three players had two-RBI games. Sunday also marked the first save situation of the season for UC Davis with Daniel Carrion securing the Aggies' first of the season.

SHOHEI WHO?
In an effort to keep Nathan Peng's bat in the lineup and his arm on the mound, Tommy Nicholson has increasinly shown a willingness to forfeit the DH to keep both. Peng has started on the mound and at DH in his last two starts. Against San Francisco on Tuesday, he started at DH and moved to the mound to throw a scoreless inning of relief. Peng has allowed one earned run or fewer in four of his last six appearances and had three RBI in the UCSD series.

AGGIES CONTINUE TO SCORE LATE
A season-long trend continued for UC Davis against the Tritons last weekend. 43 percent of UC Davis' runs on the season have come in the seventh inning or later with 27 in the seventh, 16 in the eighth, 24 in the ninth, and three in extras. Conversely, the Aggies allow the fewest runs of any inning in ninth innings with 18 opponent runs in the ninth this season, accounting for six percent of UC Davis' runs allowed.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
Freshman Mark Wolbert in May has returned to the form that made him the breakout hitter in the Big West in April. Wolbert went 5-11 with three runs and an RBI against UCSD and now has multi-hit games in five of his last seven games. Wolbert's average is up to .365, third in the Big West. His .981 OPS is fifth and .532 slugging percentage is 10th.

AGGIE OFFENSE BOUNCES BACK
The UC San Diego series was a bounce back set for the entire Aggie offense. UC Davis batted .286 in the series, the highest series average since facing CSU Bakersfield April 8-10. The Aggies' .381 slugging percentage was also their highest in a three-game series since that CSUB set.

CONFERENCE RECORDS
Despite the uncertain future and roster challenges UC Davis faced in the offseason, the 2022 coaching staff have managed to field a competitive roster in conference play. The 2022 team has alread matched the 2016, 2013, and 2009 teams for conference wins in the Division Iera - all years with full offseasons and recruiting cycles.
