DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis senior thrower Marlene Gutierrez was named the Big West Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

On the heels of a stellar performance at the Brutus Hamilton, Gutierrez put together an even better meet at the Mt. SAC Relays.

In the hammer, the senior improved her third-best mark in school history with a throw of 190-6 (58.08m). She also improved her shot put mark with a heave of 50-3.25 (15.32m) for fourth all-time.

The weekend was the first time in her stellar career that Gutierrez eclipsed 190-feet in the hammer and 50-feet in the shot put.

The Aggies will head to the ASU Twilight Invite this weekend, competing under the lights, beginning on Friday, April 22.
