COACHES...

UC DAVIS: Five-time Big West Conference Coach of the Year Jennifer Gross is in her 12th year (19th overall at UC Davis) with a record of 202-126 (.616) overall and 115-57 (.669) in the Big West.
WASHINGTON: Tina Langley is in her second season at Washington with an overall record of 8-16 (.333) and a Pac-12 record of 2-12 (.143).

IN THE RANKINGS: Neither team received votes in the most recent polls.

ABOUT THE HUSKIES: Washington went 7-16 last season under the first season of head coach Tina Langley and her staff. The Huskies finished 2-12 in Pac-12 play in 2021-22. Washington is 1-0 to begin the 2022-23 season with a home victory over Utah Tech by a score of 87-74.

SERIES NOTES: This is the fourth-all-time meeting between the Aggies and Huskies and first meeting in nearly 10 years. Washington won the most recent matchup in Davis in 2012, 81-56. However, UC Davis owns the series lead (2-1), including a 69-68 victory in Seattle in 2011. The two programs also played a neutral game in 2007 in Honolulu during the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic where UC Davis won 69-58.

AGAINST THE PAC-12: Over the last five seasons, the Aggies are 3-6 against Pac-12 opponents, which includes an upset victory over then-No. 18 Oregon last season with a score of 64-57 in Eugene, Ore.

A LOOK BACK – UC DAVIS 84, BETHEL COLLEGE 36: Redshirt freshman center Megan Norris finished with her first career double-double in her collegiate debut as the UC Davis women's basketball team won their 2022-23 season opener by a score of 84-36 over Bethel College (KS) last Monday at the University Credit Union Center. Four Aggies finished in double-digit scoring as UC Davis rolled past the Threshers.

PRESEASON POLL: The UC Davis women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the league standings, according to a vote by the league's coaches.

TURN IT UP: UC Davis junior guard Evanne Turner was named to the coach's preseason All-Big West team. The 2022 All-Big West Honorable Mention is coming off her best season, starting all 28 games for the Aggies last year, averaging 12.6 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game in over 32 minutes per game. The native of Fontana, Calif. set career-highs in point, assist, steal and three-pointer averages while missing just four three throws all season.

THREE FOR ALL: The Aggies carry a significant streak into the 2022-23 season thanks to their prowess beyond the arc. UC Davis has hit at least one three-pointer in 567 consecutive games dating back to Feb. 15, 2003, at Cal State San Bernardino. It is believed to be the fourth-longest active streak of its kind in the nation, trailing only Iowa State (860 games since 1995), Chattanooga (707 games since 1999), and Milwaukee (607 games since 2002) as of Nov. 11, 2022.

CHASING 1,000: Evanne Turner is 265 points away from the 1,000-point plateau, which would make her the 22nd in school history to reach that marker. Cierra Hall was the last Aggie to accomplish that last season.

RETURNER STATS: The Aggies return 46.0% of their scoring from the 2021-22 season, including 57.8% of the team's three-point scoring.

A "GOLDEN" OPPORTUNITY: This year's Causeway battle with rival Sacramento State will have a different look to it as the Aggies and Hornets will take the floor at the Golden 1 Center -- home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings -- on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m.

NEW AGGIES: Four new Aggies made their UC Davis debuts, featuring three transfers (Tess Sussman, Tova Sabel, and Victoria Baker) and one freshman (Nya Epps).

AGGIE STORYLINES…
• UC Davis returns 10 letter winners and three starters off of last season's squad that finished 15-13 overall -- its seventh consecutive winning season -- and 8-8 in Big West Conference play.
• The Aggies won five consecutive Big West regular season titles (2017-2021), making them one of only two schools in league history to accomplish such a feat (UC Santa Barbara from 1996-2005).
• UC Davis were one of four schools to have won at least five straight conference regular season titles: UConn (7 in the American Athletic Conference, 1 in the BIG EAST), Baylor (11 in the Big 12), and Gonzaga (5 in the West Coast Conference).
• UC Davis is a combined 72-18 in Big West play over the last six years entering the 2022-23 season.
• UC Davis became the sixth program in conference history to win at least three Big West Tournament titles and the first repeat champion since 2014-15.
• Head Coach Jennifer Gross won five consecutive Big West Coach of the Year awards -- the first time in conference history that has happened -- and stands behind only Mark French of UCSB (7) for the most in league history.
• With her 12 years at the helm, Gross is tied for the second-longest tenured head coach in school history with Pam Gill-Fisher.
• Gross' 202 wins ranks third in school history and fifth in league history, while her 115 league wins stand fifth in the Big West annals. She trails only Simpson (251) and Jorja Hoehn (205) in school lore.
• UC Davis' trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2021 marked the program's eighth postseason appearance in 14 years as a Division I program. The team's No. 12 seed in the tournament was the highest in program history and the highest for any Big West school since 2004 ( UC Santa Barbara - No. 11).
