DAVIS, Calif. – Following consecutive wins earned in impressive fashion, UC Davis will head to CSU Bakersfield for the first head-to-head Big West series in program history. Action will begin on Friday at 3 p.m., continue on Saturday with a 12 p.m. doubleheader and conclude with Sunday's 1 p.m. series finale.

live stream on ESPN3 is available for all four games.
Â
Throughout last weekend's home series against UC Riverside,
Cooper Morrison led all Aggies with his .600 average, .667 slugging percentage, .647 on base percentage, nine hits and four runs by scoring once in each game. It was his game-tying RBI in the ninth inning of the second game of Saturday's doubleheader that set the stage for
Isiah Verrett's dramatic walk-off home run when UC Davis returned to the plate in the 10th inning.
Â
Energized by that finish, the Aggies returned to Phil Swimley Field the following day and saw
Brett Erwin record a season-high five strikeouts through his seven-inning start, and enjoyed three stellar innings thrown by
Andrew LaCour, who set a new career high by striking out five, to end the weekend with a 9-0 blowout victory.
Â
Erwin and LaCour allowed only four hits, and eight Aggies either scored or drove in a run against the Highlanders in that Easter Sunday matchup. Â
Â
While UC Davis was celebrating wins, a completely different situation took place in Bakersfield since last weekend marked the end of the Roadrunners' two-week pause. Unable to compete throughout that timespan, originally scheduled road games at Stanford and Cal State Fullerton were cancelled.
Â
When the 'Runners take the field against the Aggies on Friday, that will mark its first game since earning a 9-7 victory at home against UCR on March 21.
Â
Due to its pause, CSU Bakersfield only competed in a pair of non-conference series at Fresno State and at home against Pacific before taking three of its first four Big West games played this year. After opening the season with two losses in its three matchups vs. the Bulldogs, the Roadrunners split its four-game series against the Tigers.
Â
Through his team's first 11 played, senior infielder Tyler Jorgensen leads CSUB with his .477 average, 1.216 on base percentage, .705 slugging percentage, 21 hits, 12 RBI, four doubles and two home runs.
Â
Junior right-hander Roman Angelo is one of six players who are collectively responsible for their team's win total; he leads the Roadrunners' pitching staff with his 2.65 ERA and 15 strikeouts and is slated to throw in the final game of the weekend.
Â
Even though CSU Bakersfield leads the all-time series, 9-6, this is the first set of Big West games between these teams. Prior to the 2020-21 season, the Roadrunners were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
