2020: Made four starts as the Aggies' Friday starter... Went 2-0 with a 2.14 ERA over 21 innings, holding opponents to a career-low .251 average... UC Davis won three of his four starts... Picked up first win of the season against North Dakota State, going 5.2 innings and allowing six hits and just two earned runs (2/20)... Final start of the season was his best, going six innings and allowing just two unearned runs on six hits to lead the Aggies to victory over Mount St. Mary's (3/6)... Did not allow an earned run over final two starts of season.
2019: An integral part of the Aggies’ weekend rotation as the Friday starter, made a career-best 12 starts in 14 appearances… Led the staff in wins with an even 5-5 record overall and a 3.70 ERA… Struck out 29 over 73 innings of work, holding opponents to a .271 average against… Earned his first career win in his season debut on Feb. 16 against Northern Colorado, allowing one run on four hits over five innings, and striking out four in an 11-2 win for UC Davis… Struck out a career-high six against UC Riverside en route to his third win of the year… Limited the Pac-12’s Sun Devils to just one run on six hits over a season-long seven innings, while striking out four in a narrow one-run loss at Arizona State… Also tossed seven innings against the Highlanders on Mar. 29… Held Cal State Fullerton to one run on four hits over six innings, and struck out a pair to help the Aggies secure a 3-1 win over the Titans (5/3).
2018: Appeared in a team-high 20 games out of the bullpen for the Aggies… Finished his freshman season 0-2 with a 3.38 ERA—the second lowest on the team— to go along with three saves… Ranked second on the staff with 36 strikeouts over 45.1 innings of action, holding opponents to a .251 average… Earned his first career save in his collegiate debut against CSU Bakersfield (2/17), tossing three scoreless innings and striking out a pair… Logged his second and third saves in back-to-back appearances against Big West colleagues Cal Poly (4/15) and UC Santa Barbara (4/20), respectively… Struck out a career-high four over a season-long 4.1 innings against Northern Colorado (2/17).
ARMIJO HS ’17: A four-year honor roll member, Erwin maintained a 4.4 GPA throughout the course of his high school career… Named Most Valuable Player of his JV squad during his sophomore year and batted .380… Named Pitcher of the Year during his junior season, posting a 6-1 overall record… Selected to the All-Monticello Empire League first team and voted varsity team MVP during his senior season, boasting a .301 average at the plate.
PERSONAL: Born in Overland Park, Kansas… Parents are Michael and Kathleen Erwin… Has a younger brother, Brendan, who attends Saint Mary’s, a younger brother Nick, and an older sister, Erin, who recently graduated from Sacramento State… His father played baseball at Springfield College… Lists Derek Jeter as his sports hero.
