DAVIS, Calif. – Sophomore Kane Milling is the newest member of UC Davis men's basketball, as announced by head coach
Jim Les on Friday. The 6-foot-4 guard joins the program with three years of eligibility remaining.
Â
"We are excited to welcome Kane to the Aggie family. He is first and foremost a terrific young man and is great addition to the UC Davis community," said Les.
Â
"On the court, he is a successful and proven competitor at the Division I level after carving out a significant role at Nevada. Kane has great size and length for a guard, his advanced skill set allows him to handle the ball, utilize on-ball screens, create opportunities for his teammates and finish in the paint. He is an excellent shooter from the perimeter and will become a big part of our success in the upcoming years." Â
Â
The Nantes, France native averaged over 22 minutes per game throughout the 2020-21 season at Nevada and shot 37 percent from three for the year. In the Wolf Pack's final 16 games, he connected on 49 pct. on his attempts from the floor and hit 44 pct. from distance.
Â
In his team's regular-season finale, Milling scored a career-high 17 points against Colorado State which lifted Nevada to a three-point victory.
Â
Milling is the second member of his family to play basketball at an elite level since his father, Kyle, played at Oregon and UC Santa Barbara before enjoying a successful 15-year professional career in France's top-tier men's basketball league. Â
Â
Prior to joining the Wolf Pack, Milling attended CSP Limoges (Limoges, France) and averaged 14.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals. He also competed for Espoirs Hyeres-Toulon during the 2017-18 season.
