DAVIS, Calif. — Four UC Davis men's basketball student-athletes — Connor Sevilla, Nils Cooper, Niko Rocak and Brayden Fagbemi — have been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team. Selected by College Sports Communicators, the award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
To qualify for this prestigious honor, student-athletes must meet elite academic and athletic standards. On the court, nominees are required to compete in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start in at least 66 percent of the contests. In the classroom, student-athletes must maintain a strict cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher (with no rounding allowed). For graduate students, the 3.50 GPA requirement applies to both their undergraduate and graduate coursework.
Sevilla and Rocak, who both earned Big West Honorable Mention accolades this season, anchored the Aggies' lineup. Sevilla has also been selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members for a chance to be recognized as an All-American.
All four Aggies were integral to the team's success during the 2025-26 campaign. Sevilla started 31 games for UC Davis, averaging a team-high 13.3 points per game. The guard was highly efficient, shooting 39.9% from three-point range and a stellar 90.3% from the free-throw line. Rocak started 32 games, making his presence felt in the paint with a team-leading 50 blocks and 5.2 rebounds per contest. He also contributed 9.4 points per game while shooting 51.6% from the field.
Cooper functioned as a primary scoring option for the Aggies, starting 23 of his 27 games played and averaging 12.3 points per outing. He shot an impressive 54.9% from the floor and pulled down 4.6 rebounds per game. Fagbemi appeared in 31 games, commanding the offense with a team-leading 4.3 assists per game. He also served as a defensive catalyst with 62 steals while chipping in 7.0 points per contest.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees for men's basketball will be announced April 14.
