NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – For the second time in as many contests during its Southern California road trip, UC Davis took an early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles round of Sunday's Big West Conference match at the Matador Tennis Complex.
Â
Shirley Hall and
Michelle Zell were the first to finish, thanks to their 6-4 victory vs. Ekatarina Repina/Jacquie Tan, and were soon followed by teammates
Sara Tsukamoto and
Lauren Ko when they recorded a 7-5 result against Jolene Coetzee/Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso.
By winning the first four singles matchups, CSUN turned its 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 win, wrapping up the Aggies' weekend with a split of their Big West duals.
UC Davis will not return to competition until April 11 when Hawai'i visits the Marya Welch Tennis Center, and will enter that contest with a 4-7 overall and 1-3 Big West record.
CSUN will continue its season at 4-2 and 1-1.
