DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis field hockey will remain in the America East Conference for the next two years after signing an extension, as announced by head coach
Britt Broady on Saturday.
Â
"I am very pleased to continue our association with the America East. Not only does this conference compete at a high level of play, the league is extremely invested in the growth and development of its student-athletes as future leaders," said Broady.Â
Â
"Two of the conference's initiatives — Better To9ether, which focuses on mental health and Spread Respect, which raises awareness to ensure equality — align with values of UC Davis Athletics and helps create the best possible environment, and experience, for every field hockey student-athlete."
Â
Since joining the America East in 2015, the Aggie enjoyed an upward trajectory and experienced one of their most successful years, both on and off the field, in 2019-20.
Â
In addition to increasing its win total for the third season in a row, matching a single-season record for wins and finishing with the best win-loss percentage in program history, three Aggies earned all-conference honors and another 14 student-athletes from the fifth-ranked public school in the nation were named to the league's honor roll.
Â
Field hockey's Ratings Percentage Index also rose for the third straight season under Broady to 40 last year.Â
UC Davis joined the America East along with Cal, Stanford and Pacific in 2015 after competing in the Northern Pacific Field Hockey Conference from 2009-14.
