DAVIS, Calif. —  Following Thursday's thrilling 85-82 victory at Long Beach State, UC Davis will seek a sweep of this week's Big West games when it heads to The Valley to face a CSUN squad with the same mission after handing UC Riverside its first league loss last night.

As was the case Thursday night inside the Walter Pyramid, ESPN3 will feature the Aggies in Saturday's 3 p.m. matchup against the Matadors. Calling this national broadcast are Sam Farber (PBP), Dave Miller (Analyst) and Megan Reza (Sideline).

Scott Marsh will call the action courtside for Sports 1140 KHTK and its internet audio broadcast, available through TuneIn Radio by searching the phrase Sports 1140 KHTK. All video, audio, live stats, in-game Twitter updates and tickets links are available by visiting Men's Basketball Gameday Central.

These teams split last season's series by protecting their home court, but it was CSUN's result that ended UC Davis' 11-game head-to-head win streak — a string of Aggie victories that began on Feb. 6, 2014, in Davis. In addition to winning five straight in Davis and Northridge, the Aggies defeated CSUN in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 Big West Tournament.

As is the case since head coach Jim Les took over the program nine years ago, team defense (the foundation of the program) will play a big role in the ultimate outcome of Saturday's matinee. That unit will face a stern test against redshirt sophomore forward Lamine Diane — the 2018-19 Big West Freshman, Newcomer and Player of the Year — junior guard Terrell Gomez and sophomore guard Elijah Harkless, the Matadors' top three scorers who average 28.8, 20.8 and 10.2 points per game, respectively.

Since Diane returned to CSUN's lineup after missing the first 13 games of the year, the Matadors won four of six games. Results at Boise State (his first game of the season) and Cal Poly are the anomalies for a team that won five of its last seven played — a stark contrast to how it started the season with seven losses in a row.

This is a road-heavy portion of league action for the Aggies, who will play three of four games outside of Davis, starting with last night's game at Long Beach State. Once the team returns home from CSUN, UC Davis will host Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday before traveling to Hawai'i next Saturday.

Series Record: UC Davis leads 22-20
Last CSUN Win: 3/7/19 — A, 81-76 (OT)
Last UC Davis Win: 2/13/19 — H, 76-59
Series Streak: CSUN +1
