Game Notes: UC Davis  |  UC Santa Barbara  |  Big West

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Since the 2014-15 season, no mainland Big West team enjoyed more success at home than UC Davis, a team that dropped the fewest games on its own court and holds the highest home win percentage throughout that timespan. This is why Aggie basketball fans are excited about the final weeks of the regular season because six of UC Davis' final eight games will take place inside the Pavilion.

The only thing standing between this home-heavy schedule and the team is Saturday's game at UC Santa Barbara.

ESPNU will televise this Big West matchup across the country, starting at 9 p.m. On Saturday's broadcast from the Thunderdome is Sam Farber (PBP) and Corey Williams (Analyst). Scott March will also call the action for Sports 1140 KHTK.

This series has been a hard-fought, and evenly played one in recent seasons with UC Davis winning three of the last five played.

Since UCSB won the first meeting of the season, which took place on Jan. 17 in Davis, a victory Saturday night will allow the Aggies to sweep its Central Coast road trip — they defeated Cal Poly on Thursday by a 63-53 score — and split this season's series against the Gauchos.

UCSB will look to earn a sweep of this week's home games after topping CSUN on Wednesday.

This series provided unique results in the last couple seasons as well: UC Davis won the last two head-to-head games played inside the Thunderdome, and UC Santa Barbara took the last two games played inside the Pavilion.

Last season, the Aggies visited UCSB off a triple-overtime victory at Cal Poly two days prior, and trailed the Gauchos until they scored 23 of 29 points throughout a six-minute stretch midway through the second half, and held the lead for good in a 71-54 victory. That result snapped UCSB's 11-game home and eight-game overall win streaks, propelled the Aggies to finish their season with five straight wins and clinch the team's third Big West title in the last four seasons.

Series Record: UC Davis trails 30-10
Last UC Davis Win: 2/17/18 - A, 71-54
Last UCSB Win: 1/17/19 - H, 69-58
Series Streak: UC Santa Barbara +1
