DAVIS, Calif. — After taking back-to-back Texas road trips, facing three ranked opponents, and traveling more than 7,000 miles roundtrip over a seven-day period, the UC Davis equestrian team is set to return home to the UC Davis Equestrian Center for its final home meet of the 2018-19 season, as the Aggies square off against United Equestrian Conference colleague, No. 9 Fresno State this Saturday (Mar. 2) at 12 p.m. During the intermission of Saturday's meet, the UC Davis equestrian program will honor its four graduating student-athletes in a senior ceremony.
Saturday's contest will mark the final home appearances for Aggie seniors

The No. 9 Bulldogs began their 2018-19 campaign at the Willis Invitational in Waco, Tex… After capturing a narrow 8-7 victory over UEC rival UT-Martin, the Bulldogs fell in back-to-back duals with Delaware State, 6-9, and No. 7 Baylor, 4-11… Hosted the annual Fresno State Invitational on Nov. 9-10, welcoming No. 5 South Carolina and No. 4 Baylor... Fell to the Gamecocks, 7-10, and upset the Bears, 10-8… Downed No. 9 Delaware State in a second meeting with the Hornets on Feb. 1 by a margin of 13-5… The Bulldogs carry an even 2-2 UEC mark after falling 5-15 at No. 3 SMU (Oct. 27)… Fresno State will look to snap a one-meet skid after its recent loss to No. 1 Auburn… The Bulldogs are 0-3 on the road… Before appearing at the UEC Championship meet in Martin, Tenn., Fresno State will make its way to Stillwater, Okla. to face No. 6 Oklahoma State on Mar. 9… The Aggies and the Bulldogs are slated to meet again on March 30 at the Student Horse Center in Fresno, Calif.

AGGIE DUO CAPTURES UEC WEEKLY HONORS - 2/19

Laurel Jackson (Reining) and junior animal science major
Sabin Marquardt (Equitation Over Fences) picked up their first career United Equestrian Conference Rider of the Week accolades after the duo collected both Aggie points scored against No. 4 Texas A&M… Jackson (1-0) earned the Aggies' lone Reining point against No. 4 Texas A&M when she defeated Marissa Harrell—who entered Saturday's meet with a 5-1 record--with a team-high score of 67.5 on the road at the Hildebrand Equine Complex… Marquardt (2-0) also collected the only UC Davis point in Equitation Over Fences, defeating Rhian Murphy, 82-75. Earlier this season, Marquardt came out on top in the Aggies' first-ever home meet against Delaware State, edging Zoe Kirsch, 80-79.
