Women’s tennis completes SMC Invite

MORAGA, Calif. — The Aggies closed out the second tournament of the fall season at the St. Mary's Fall Invitational on Sunday.

In doubles play, Lauren Ko and Sara Tsukamoto were scheduled to play Alexis Nelson (Cal) and Melissa Pick (Wisconsin) in the A flight consolation final, but withdrew from the match

Tsukamoto continued her day in singles, dropping the first set to Charmaine Seah (Wisconsin) before retiring the match.

Also competing in the A flight consolation semifinals, Yana Gurevich faced Cal Poly's Emily Monaghan (previously Emily Louie-Meadors), but fell in straight sets.

With two-thirds of the fall season under their belts, the Aggies will have a weekend off before traveling to Stanford for the ITA Northwest Regional Oct. 18-22.

"It's been nice to get some good matches in Berkeley and at St. Mary's," remarked head coach Bill Maze. "We'll see what we can do to heal up for the ITA regional."
