OPENING WHISTLE: Unbeaten in its last 12 matches dating back to last year and one of 15 remaining unbeaten teams in the nation entering the week, the UC Davis men's soccer team heads out on the road for the sixth time in eight matches this season, taking on Utah Valley on Tuesday (Sept. 18) at 6 p.m. PT, before coming home for a match-up against the nation's top scoring team in undefeated Saint Mary's on Saturday (Sept. 22) at 1 p.m.

IN THE POLLS: UC Davis enters the week ranked No. 17 in the nation according to the Sept. 11 United Soccer Coaches poll (new rankings will be released on Tuesday) for the second consecutive week, while climbing one spot to No. 24 in this week's College Soccer News poll… Saint Mary's is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll of Sept. 11, while standing No. 21 according to this week's Top Drawer Soccer poll and No. 27 in the College Soccer News poll… Utah Valley is unranked.

BE A FOLLOWER: Fans can keep up with the latest in UC Davis men's soccer by "liking" them on Facebook (/UCDavisMensSoccer) and following the Aggies on Twitter (@UCDavisMSOC).

ABOUT THE WOLVERINES: Utah Valley enters the week with a 3-3 overall record, but the Wolverines have dropped their last three consecutive matches heading into Tuesday's meeting with the Aggies, outscored 9-1 in that stretch… In its only match last week, Utah Valley had its contest against UC Santa Barbara cancelled due to poor air quality because of wildfires in the area… The Wolverines are 1-1 against Big West Conference schools this season, posting a 2-1 win over UC Irvine and falling 6-1 to CSUN… Sophomore midfielder Zach Maas leads the team with three goals and is tied with senior forward Austin Buxton (2 goals and 2 assists) for the team lead in points with six… Sophomore goalkeeper Joseph Wheelwright has started five of the team's first six contests, posting a 0.89 goals against average and 13 saves in just over 400 minutes.

SERIES NOTES: Tuesday marks only the second meeting between UC Davis and Utah Valley, with the Wolverines posting a 1-0 victory over the Aggies back on Sept. 24, 2016, in Northern California.

ABOUT THE GAELS: At 7-0 overall heading into the week, Saint Mary's is one of three undefeated teams in the country along with Wake Forest (7-0) and Rhode Island (5-0)… The Gaels have shut out five of their seven opponents this season while sporting the nation's top scoring offense at 3.57 goals per game and 25 goals overall… Saint Mary's posted a 2-0 win over Sacramento State and a 4-3 double overtime victory over UC Riverside last weekend and is 3-0 against Big West Conference schools heading into its match against UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday (Sept. 19) before hosting the Aggies… Junior forward Jake Rudel leads the team with seven goals and 15 points, while junior forward Anders Engebretsen has scored six times and assisted on two more… Nine different players have accounted for the team's goals as Saint Mary's has outscored the opposition, 25-4, on the season… Junior goalkeeper Remi Prieur has played all but 14 minutes in net, posting a 0.57 goals against average and 24 saves, stopping 86 percent of the shots put on frame.

SERIES NOTES: The series between UC Davis and Saint Mary's is tied at 4-4-2 overall dating back to 2004, but the Aggies are unbeaten (3-0-2) in the last five meetings with the Gaels — with three of the five contests going to overtime… Seven of the 10 matches have been decided by a single goal, with the two draws and a 2-0 Saint Mary's victory in 2012 (the Gaels' last win in the series) being the outliers… UC Davis is 2-1-1 at home against the Gaels in that span, last posting a 2-1 overtime win in 2016.
