DAVIS, Calif. – A flawless round from sophomore
Madison Wood led to a 4-under 68, the lowest round recorded by any Aggie, and lowest individual score of the day, on Tuesday during the final round of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, hosted by New Mexico. In addition to Woods career-low score, junior
Yoonhee Kim ended the event tied for sixth, as did the Aggies who finished 10-over with a team score of 874 alongside Colorado.
Kim earned the second top-10 finish of her career by shooting a 1-over 73 to finish 2-under overall, alongside three other competitors, with a 214.
Wood shot 2-under on both the front and back nine to shatter her previous career best by three strokes. After recording birdies on the 7, 16 and 18, the Thousand Oaks, Calif. native posted a 2 on the hole 3 before concluding her visit to the UNM Championship course with consecutive pars.
This brilliant round helped Wood climb 25 spots from her original position on Tuesday to finished tied for 56th with a 10-over 226.

Samantha Hutchison and junior
Christine Danielsson ended tied for 41st at 7-over (223), while junior
Rei Nakatani rounded out the Aggies' lineup in 59th place at 11-over.
Kent State finished 6-under (858) to claim the team championship while Pepperdine's Hira Naveed climbed five spots and took home individual honors by finishing 7-under (209).
UC Davis will experience a quick turnaround since its next tournament, the East/West Match Play, will begin on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Since the 2005-06 season, its first as an intercollegiate program at UC Davis, women's golf quickly earned a reputation as one of the most successful teams in the Big West Conference.
