DAVIS, Calif. -
Bay Area standout Cameron Ba, a four-year letterwinner at St. Joseph Notre Dame, will join UC Davis basketball for its off-season workouts as the newest member of the program's incoming class, as announced by head coach Jim Les on Wednesday.

After leading his team to a berth in North Coast Section Division 5 semifinals as a freshman, the six-foot-three guard earned the first of three all-league awards (in as many seasons) the following year when the Pilots won sectional and state championships.

Throughout the next two years, SJND dominated the Bay Counties-East League by winning a combined 55 of 68 games overall and all 24 played against conference opponents. In addition to posting back-to-back undefeated league records, St. Joseph Notre Dame advanced to the NCS Division 4 championship game each season, and won another title in Ba's junior year.

Bay Counties League officials bestowed all-conference first team honors to Ba during his junior and senior seasons; before capping an outstanding high school career, he also earned league playoff MVP accolades. Throughout SJND's four postseason runs, Ba averaged 13.1 points per game, shot 54 percent overall, 47 pct. from three and 82 pct. at the free throw line.

Highlighted by his 30-point performance in the 2017 NCS championship game — he shot 9 of 14 overall, 6 of 10 from three and 6 of 7 at the line — Ba scored 1,271 points throughout his four years with the Pilots. Of that career-point total, 639 were scored from three.

As a senior, Ba led all Pilots in minutes per game, averaged 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

During his final two years at SJND, he also competed for Team Arsenal, an Oakland-based AAU team.

Ba is extremely familiar with UC Davis and its world-class academic programs since his mother, and three other family members, are Aggie alums.
