Sun Angel Classic Complete Results

TEMPE, Ariz. - Senior pole vaulter Marc Toney, junior jumper Steven Childs, and junior sprinter Kieana Butler each scored a second-place title in the men's pole vault, men's long jump, and women's 200 dash, respectively, to highlight the action that took place at Arizona State's Sun Angel Classic over the weekend.

On the men's side, Toney pole vaulted a height of 5.00m/16-4.75, while Childs's leap a 7.43m/24-4.50 measurement in the long jump currently ties with the sixth-place holder in the UC Davis record book. On the women's side, Butler's 200 dash time of 24.32 ties with the ninth-place holder in Aggie history.

Aside from the three, second-place Aggie finishers, Nigel Burnett led the Aggie team of four in the men's 100 dash with a clock time of 10.66, goof for a third place finish, while Butler also led the Aggies with a fourth-place finish in the women's 100 with a time of 11.83, just two seconds short of her personal best time received at the 2018 Aggie Open.

To highlight the top finishers in the field events, junior jumper Erinn Beattie finished in fifth with a 1.75m/5-8.75 measurement in the women's long jump, while Drew Xandrine-Anderson and T.K. Dodds finished in sixth and seventh, respectively, in the men's triple jump.

Originally scheduled to also make an appearance in Chico State's Distance Carnival and Twilight Invitational, the Aggie contingent of four from the women's squad did not participate in the women's 5000 run.

The UC Davis track and field team returns to action next weekend as they host the Woody Wilson Classic at the Woody Wilson Track and Toomey Field for their second and final home meet of the 2018 season.
