Emily Allen posted a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs, but UC Davis eventually fell in four sets, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14, to Hawai'i in Big West Conference women's volleyball action at the Stan Sheriff Center Friday night.
The Aggies end their 2018 season with a 16-12 overall record and 8-8 mark in conference. The Rainbow Wahine, battling for a spot in the upcoming NCAA tournament, improve to 18-8 for the year and 14-2 in Big West play.
Karsseboom and Allen were the only UC Davis players with double-digit offense, although another senior, middle blocker
Lauren Jackson, added 7-for-14 on the attacking end plus four blocks at the net. Redshirt freshman opposite
Leonie Strehl chipped in another eight kills on 21 swings.
Senior left-sider McKenna Granato led UH with 17 kills on just two errors for a .429 average, while junior setter Norene Iosia added another nine kills, 20 assists and 13 digs.

Dan Conners' fifth season at the helm. UC Davis will remain in Hawai'i for a beach scrimmage at Queen's Beach on Sunday, serving as a preview for the inaugural beach volleyball season next spring.
• Allen and Karsseboom each had four kills in the third set to help UC Davis hold off a UH sweep... The two teams battled to 15 ties in the frame, including every opportunity from 13-13 through 22-22... Kills by Jackson and Strehl gave the Aggies a 24-22 set point, then an attacking error by the 'Bows shipped the set to UC Davis.
• UC Davis opened each set with leads, including a 14-6 start to the opener... Strehl tallied two kills and two block assists in that Set 1 launch... The Wahine responded with a 16-3 run of its own to claim a commanding lead and the eventual set victory.
• UC Davis struggled offensively in the fourth set, committing three straight attacking errors in a 5-0 run that gave Hawai'i a 10-6 lead... The Aggies had as many errors as kills in the finale (9-9)... Meanwhile, UH hit an efficient .333 in the stanza to continually expand the lead to 23-13... Angel Gaskin put down a kill to the deep corner for 24-14 match point then teamed up with Natasha Burns for the match-winner.
• Friday's match marks the career finale for six Aggie seniors: Allen, Bolko, Jackson, Karsseboom, setter
Maddie Merlino and opposite
Nicola Moore... Bolko closes out her Aggie career as the program's all-time leader in digs with 1,855... Allen finishes with 1,014 career kills and 1,014 career digs, ranking 10th in school history in each category.
