2017: Played in all 30 matches for 100 total sets... Split setting chores with Paloma Bowman in team’s 6-2 system... Totaled 546 assists with 22 aces and 173 digs... Had season-high 50 assists in Aggie Invitational win vs. Boise State (9/8)... Served up 6 aces with 31 assists vs. UC Riverside (5/4)... Had five matches with double-figure digs, including 16 vs. Sacramento State (9/5).
2016: Appeared in all 29 matches, starting 14, for 107 total sets... Platooned with Sophia Mar as part of team’s 6-2... Led Aggies with 591 assists (5.52 per set) and 22 aces (0.21)... Also had 196 digs (1.83)... Recorded season-high 33 assists in 4-set win at UC Irvine (10/1)... Picked up 16 digs at UC Santa Barbara the following week (10/6), one of seven double-digit matches for the season.
2015: Started 6 of 29 matches for 94 total sets... Split time with Mar when Aggies ran a 6-2 system... Finished with 376 assists (4.00), 263 (5.06 per set) of which came in preseason... Also had 15 aces (0.16) and 136 digs (1.45) for the year... Lone Big West Conference start was at UC Irvine (11/21), resulting in 26 assists and 8 digs... Tallied season-best 31 assists vs. Baylor (8/30)... Had 15 digs each vs. Portland (9/18) and at home vs. Cal Poly (11/24), both four sets.
RIO AMERICANO HS ’15: Totaled 3,524 assists and 837 digs in three varsity seasons... Led Capital Athletic League in assists all four years, including a 10.8 average in 2013... Also ranked among CAL leaders in aces each year, with totals of 97, 48 and 70 from sophomore through senior seasons... Made All-CAL team in each of final two seasons, adding Sacramento Bee All-Metro accolades in 2014... Played club ball for Synergy Force VBC.
PERSONAL: Born in Sacramento, Calif.... Majoring in communication... Mother is Marcie Merlino... One of three sisters, along with Michala (22) and Meghan (19)... If not for volleyball, would compete in track & field at UC Davis.
