Ido Goldschmidt scored four goals while
Max Somple,
Keenan Anderson and
Marcus Anderson each added hat tricks, leading No. 9 UC Davis to a 20-3 victory over Fresno Pacific in a Western Water Polo Association men's game Thursday night at Clovis West Olympic Swim Center.
The Aggies improve to 14-5 overall and remain undefeated at 5-0 in WWPA play. Additionally, the victory extends their streak of consecutive conference wins to 27. The Sunbirds fall to 5-17 for the year and stay winless in league at 0-6.
Goldschmidt finished his hat trick in the first half during UC Davis' string of 12 unanswered goals to start the contest. Somple, enjoying his first collegiate hat trick, scored twice in the first quarter and another in the third. The Anderson brothers also had an assist and steal each in the win. Goalkeepers
R.J. Quigley and
Jonah Addington recorded save totals of nine and six, respectively.
The Aggies also received two goals and two assists from sophomore
George Kuesis, while
Riley Venne,
Nick Coufal,
Nir Gross,
Kyle Reilly and
Michael Plastino each chipped in a tally mark on the scoresheet.
For FPU, Jacob Fairchild hit two goals while Paul Siebenaler assisted on all three of his team's goals.
The Aggies also converted on 5-for-7 on power plays, while limiting their hosts to a 1-for-9 success rate in similar situations. The margin of victory is the largest since UC Davis beat FPU by a 24-2 final almost exactly one year ago.
The Aggies return to action at No. 2 Stanford on Saturday at noon.
