DAVIS, Calif. -- Senior Marissa Brown and sophomore Eva Chung each finished first in three events on Saturday morning, as the UC Davis women's swimming and diving team kicked off the second half of its season with its own Aggie Open at the Schaal Aquatics Center.

A rainy morning saw the Aggies share the pool with members of the local Davis Aquamonsters club in the all-comers event, which also featured a smattering of other UC Davis student-athletes in various events.

In the team's first competition since a trip to Houston in late November, Brown opened her day with a career best time of 2:13.71 to win the 200 back, while placing first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.59. She finished out her day with a win in the 200 breast, swimming the event for the first time in her career and touching in a time of 2:32.23.

Chung, meanwhile, won the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.61, took home top honors in the 100 back with a career-best time of 59.78, and took home first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.55. She also finished second in the 50 free with a time of 25.00, just behind teammate Iris Brand, who finished first with a time of 24.58. Iris also added a win in the 100 free (52.81).

Iris Brand was one of two Aggies who doubled on the day, joined by teammate Elise Roberts, who took home top honors in the 100 IM (58.85) and 200 fly (2:07.93).

Other UC Davis winners included sophomore Mia Facey, who posted a career-best time in the 500 free (5:20.06), freshman Cora McClelland in the 100 fly (57.28), senior Kirsten Brand in the 200 free (1:54.17), and junior Angelica Nowack in the 1650 free (18:15.21).

Carrying a 6-3 overall record and an unbeaten 3-0 mark against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opponents, the Aggies return to dual meet action next weekend, heading down the coast to take on league rival UC Santa Barbara on Saturday (Jan. 14) at Noon. UC Davis has won its last 17 consecutive dual meets against MPSF opponents dating back to 2012.
