Aug. 21, 2016 DAVIS, Calif. -- Former UC Davis men's soccer standout Elliott Hord has agreed to terms with Sacramento Republic FC for the remainder of the 2016 season, the club announced earlier this week.
Hord, who signed a contract last year with third-division Swedish side Yxhults IK, most recently appeared in 10 matches for the hometown Fresno Fuego in the USL's Premier Development League before joining the Republic, recording an assist in 900 minutes of play.
He was available to the Republic for their match against the Portland Timbers 2 on Aug. 20, but did not appear in the match.
A four-year letter winner for the Aggies from 2010-13, Hord appeared in 67 career matches for UC Davis, making 25 starts and finishing with a goal and three assists on 28 shots. His lone goal came against rival Sacramento State on Sept. 23 as a sophomore, while notching game-winning assists against CSUN on Oct. 16, 2010, and San Francisco on Sept. 15, 2013.
The Sacramento Republic FC currently stands at 11-6-7 overall and leads the USL's Western Conference with 40 points -- three points clear of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, and OKC Energy FC. The Republic next takes the field on Aug. 24 at the Orange County Blues FC in Irvine, Calif.
