May 26, 2016 LAWRENCE, Kan. - Lightning, rain and other inclement weather forced extended delays at the NCAA Track and Field West Prelims at the University of Kansas on Thursday before eventually forcing a suspension of all events for the day.
Officials are working on a revised schedule for the meet, which is scheduled through Saturday. Early information has the 10,000-meter runs, which were to occur on Thursday night, now set for Friday at 6 a.m. (PDT) for the women and 6:40 for the men. Christine Hoffmann and Trevor Halsted are both entered in those events for UC Davis.
UC Davis has 13 competitors at the meet. Eight of them were scheduled to compete on the opening but will await a new schedule.
