PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - Senior Luke Vivolo played his final 11 holes two shots under par on Tuesday, on his way to a 1-under 70 during the second round of action at the Saint Mary's Invitational, as the fourth-place UC Davis men's golf team moved a trio of players into the top 20 at Poppy Hills Golf Course.

Vivolo, who posted a 75 on Monday, is 3 over with a round to play and is tied for 18th place. Freshman Ryan Knop and senior Patrick Soli are each tied for 13th at 2 over after shooting 72 and 73, respectively on Tuesday. Evan Knight is 4 over and tied for 31st at 4 over after also finishing with a 73 while senior Ben Corfee had a 74 and is tied for 35th at 5 over.

The Aggies cut five strokes off their opening-round score to shoot 4-over 288 and move up a spot into fourth at 13 over. UC Davis is just two shots behind third-place Oregon State while Arizona (+16) is close behind. San Diego State (-2) took over the team lead and holds a seven-stroke lead over host Saint Mary's (+5).

Vivolo was 1 over after seven holes on Tuesday but then birdied the par-4 8th hole and the par-5 9th to make his turn a shot below par. One birdie and one bogey mixed with seven pars to keep him even on the back and 1 under for the day.

Knop opened his day with four pars but had just five the rest of his round as he scrambled with four birdies and five bogeys to finish with a 72. He capped his day with a birdie on the par-5 18th. Soli had a pair of birdies to help him play the front nine of Poppy Hills even and then had seven pars and two bogeys for a 2-over back nine.

Knight's 73 was a two-shot improvement over his score on Monday and was sparked by three birdies over the final nine holes, including back-to-back birdies on his last two. Corfee birdied the par-4 1st hole and added two more on the back nine to help highlight his 74.

Jonathan De Los Reyes and Pavan Sagoo of Saint Mary's are each 2 under and hold a one-shot lead over four players.

The Aggies will begin Wednesday's final round at 8:20 a.m. and will play with Arizona and San Francisco.
