KANSAS CITY - Corey Hawkins was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District IX team when the organization announced teams from its 25 districts on Friday.
Hawkins is the first Aggie to capture all-district accolades during the program's Division I era and the first since
Dominic Callori was honored by the NABC at the conclusion of the 2002-03 season.
This is the latest of numerous awards bestowed to the senior guard this month as the Goodyear, Ariz., native was named to the Lou Henson All-American Team and invited to participate at the College 3-Point Championships this week.
Earlier this month, the Big West Conference named Hawkins its Player of the Year just days after he captured his second league scoring title in three seasons. All-conference accolades were also earned for the third straight season when the league named him to its first team.
Hawkins ended his three-year career at UC Davis as school's all-time No. 2 scorer with 1,694 points. Combined with his father, Hersey, the Hawkins are the second-ranked father-son scoring duo in NCAA history with a combined 4,736 points.
By finishing the regular season with a .497 percentage, Hawkins is the first Aggie in the program's Division I history to collect a national three-point title. In addition to this three-point shooting prowess, Hawkins also held the nation's eighth highest individual scoring average (20.6 ppg) and 23rd-highest three-point field goals made per game mark (2.92).
In addition to his three top-25 national numbers, Hawkins also posted top totals in 10 different Big West statistical categories.
Watch Hawkins compete in the State Farm Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships live, on ESPN, when he takes the court at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Thursday, April 2. The Aggie senior will compete against some of the best shooters in the nation starting at 4 p.m.
