DAVIS, Calif. — Recent UC Davis men's basketball graduate Niko Rocak has been named to Switzerland's 14-man roster for the third and final window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers, the Swiss Basketball Federation announced.
Head coach Ilias Papatheodorou's group opens the window at home against Serbia on Wednesday, July 2 at the BCF Arena in Fribourg, Switzerland. Rocak and Switzerland then closes its qualifying run on the road at Turkey in Istanbul on July 6.
The July 2 meeting is a rematch of the teams' first leg, a 90-86 Serbia win in which the Swiss led through the first three quarters before falling by four. Rocak is joined on the Swiss roster by his brother, Toni Rocak.
The call-up marks a return to the senior national team for Rocak, who earned his first senior cap in the summer of 2025. He first represented Switzerland at the 2021 FIBA U20 European Challengers, helping the country to a third-place finish while averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.
A Geneva, Switzerland, native, Rocak wrapped up his college career at UC Davis in 2025-26, starting all 32 games as a graduate forward. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.56 blocks while shooting 51.6 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from 3-point range, earning Big West All-Conference honorable mention and Big West All-Academic honors.
The 6-foot-9 forward leaves UC Davis tied for the most career blocks in program history. He set the single-season program record with 58 blocks in 2024-25 and owns the single-game program record with six blocks against UC Irvine.
Switzerland's qualifying window can be followed through FIBA's official platforms.
